About Us

Mission Statement

The Trinity Life Learning Center welcomes you to our learning community. As we get to know you and your family, we look to build strong, cooperative relationships that will foster mutual respect, understanding, support and sharing of knowledge. As a community of learners, we strive to create an environment that cultivates a life-long love of learning for children and adults alike.

Our program endeavors to be a place that feels like home. The Trinity Life Learning Center works to create a welcoming environment for families and their children. Children are free to explore, to express themselves, to engage in discovering things that interest them, and to learn at a pace that is developmentally appropriate. We view all activities and daily routines as opportunities for learning and the program is infused with both planned experiences and spontaneous educational explorations. We recognize that childhood can be full of challenges as well as joys. We also believe that the most important aspects in dealing with challenges are strong relationships built on respect, love, collaboration, time and patience. Families with children with special needs are welcome and we make adaptations to facilitate inclusion to the best of our ability.

The Trinity Life Learning Center looks to partner with families in helping children have the best experience here as possible. The Trinity Life Learning Center program works to support parents in the many roles and responsibilities that they face as parents, students, teachers, employees, etc. In turn, parent involvement is vital to the quality of the Trinity Life Learning Center program and parent participation is highly encouraged through our center’s events, fundraisers and our parent volunteer opportunities. During your child’s time at the center, there will be a myriad of ways that families may become actively involved in supporting the Trinity Life Learning Center program. The time, thought, and energy that is put into involvement will continually add to the diversity of our program and enhance the quality of the Trinity Life Learning Center community. All members of the Trinity Life Learning Center community; parents, children, students and staff, are invited to teach, learn, explore, and share. We hope that you will enjoy your time with us.

Vision

Simply put, the vision of Trinity Life Learning Center is to “Teach Life,” which has become the guiding force for the program’s success. The vision is a dream coming to life through the families we serve and the staff that inspire them.  Our vision has given emphasis to a requirement much greater than mediocracy as we go beyond the classroom, allowing life experiences to teach our students, their families, and us.

As we teach life, our students and families are exposed to experiences that encompass hope, and confidence through various class activities, field trip settings, and age-appropriate workshops. These experiences include cooking, dancing, music, swimming, gardening, museums, and cultural studies, both local and traveled. We invite them to explore the many public sites and venues to activate interests and tantalize their senses.
Our primary goal is to instill a sense of hope and confidence. By embracing a driving belief that children, families, staff, and community members all have the potential to learn and grow continually, we are excited for each day as we find and explore the teachable moments in the air we breathe, the movement of little fingers and feet, the zoom of a car or the whiff of our hand-made gardens.
Adapting the Reggio Emilia approach to education embraces the idea that children must have some control over the direction of their learning. It is our job to provide the opportunity to teach what life can offer as our students learn to explore confidently and hope for more, constantly building on interests and ideas.

Some inner-city childcare programs may have little or no access to progressive, visionary ideas. Despite hardships, children come to us with ideas, interests, and curiosities that we should excitedly help flourish.

As we “Teach Life,” we maintain an expression of hope and confidence; without these essential attributes, it would be difficult to stay the course. Rooted in our children is the confidence to go off the beaten path and the hope that will drive them forward to the goals and experiences they set for themselves.

We make every effort to bring them to the world through interactive play, allowing children to engage, explore, and discover the world around them while simultaneously gaining the core skills of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math.

Although our Mission and Philosophy statements are posted throughout the program, they only come alive through the lives of those possessing the vision. We implement positive reinforcement to build confidence and enhance self-esteem. We explore language, traditions, and culture to ignite self-respect, dignity, and self-appreciation. We learn about feeling and give light to sharing, caring, and forgiveness to instill openness, courage, and trust. Equally, we explore challenges so our students and their families discover their resilience.

Our program partners with parents, families and the community to achieve a lifetime of positive role modeling and discoveries that impact the child and families for years to come.

Throughout history, early education has been known for setting the bar. As standards continue to rise, the efforts of the family, the community, and dedicated staff are there to move things toward the difference we want to see. Even if we have not made it clear or put it into words, these efforts remind us that a vision exists within each of us.

As we dream big, we hope to enhance the quality of life for our families by allowing children to have hands-on experiences with the world around them; we move forward with each opportunity.

Our Mission also focuses on safety, quality childcare, and best practices, with the intent to serve children in need of care while treating them respectfully as we meet their developmental needs. Although our vision is an ongoing process, we will continue to move forward by leaps and bounds, step by step and inch by inch. As this vision is passed on to the next generation, it is with great confidence that the “Teach Life” movement will live on in the soles of our students, families, and the communities we serve. The peaks and valleys are certain, but we endeavor to continue to move forward.

The vision is specific and with an in-depth intention to find its way into the hearts and minds of each Director, staff member, family member, and community member as they move through life, constantly exploring and seeing beyond unlikely circumstances they can hope with confidence.
